About Diana

I graduated from SUNY Oswego in May 2013 with a Bachelors in journalism and political science. I travel, write creatively and put myself through crazy physical challenges for a reason I can’t quite explain.

I’m an Editor at The Active Times, the go-to site for fitness, travel and adventure. I couldn’t dream up a better job, I am very grateful.

In the past, I interned for The Jane Dough, a fantastic site on women, business and current events. I was also the Editor-in-Chief of Outspoken, the Pride Alliance newsletter, which focuses mainly on LGBT+ stories and events. In that position, I created a 20 page full-color magazine, which was published professionally and was the first of it’s kind in the history of the organization.

I am always looking for opportunities to strengthen my writing (and add stamps to my passport). I’m hoping this blog can be a side project, as I now have a full-time writing gig. When I can post, I’ll be delving into New York-isms, themes of travel and hopelessly trying to catch those elusive thoughts that hit when you’re mostly asleep or as far away from a pen as humanly possible.

Thanks for reading and you can contact me at Diana.gerstacker@gmail.com.
